Ladies Section - 2021 Introduction

From: Judy Causgrove

On behalf of the Ladies Executive, we wish to welcome all ladies to the Elbow Springs Ladies Section (ESLS). The leagues will begin the week of April 26 and on-line sign up is open now. To book your tee time go into the Member Booking Section and sign up under the League option. Thanks to the Club we have plenty of opportunity to play with other member ladies with tee times set aside each week: Tuesday Day Ladies, Thursday EAGLES (Eager, Awesome Golfing Ladies of Elbow Springs), Thursday Nine and Dine (no dine yet) and Saturday Business Ladies. With COVID-19, we will be continuing as we did last year with no sign-up fee, games or tournaments. We welcome all member ladies to participate in the leagues.

Inter-Club and Business Ladies Inter-club will not be offered this year because of COVID-19. We are waiting to hear details for CHAMPS and will let you know as soon as possible.

To date, we will not be able to socialize after the game, so we encourage all ladies to use the leagues as a time to meet new golf friends while golfing from a distance.

The Calgary Junior Girls tournament will be held July 19 – 20 this year at our Club. Further details and request for volunteers will be sent out near the end of June.

Hope to see you on the course.

Thank you to Marlene Rasmussen

Marlene’s departure from co-ordinating the ladies section will be truly missed. Her years of ingenious themes and games chosen for our ladies were always so much fun. We looked forward to Tuesday golf with anticipation as it was a highlight for many of us. Her dedication to working on committees for the Memorial Tournament, which was very dear to her heart, along with the Member/Guest will provide lasting memories. Marlene forged many friendships given that she welcomed all members who soon became friends. When you see Marlene out on the course, please share your own appreciation. If you’ve not yet had a chance to meet with her, you’re in for a real treat!

To honor Marlene’s many years of contribution to our ladies section, we will be giving a yearly award (details yet to be determined) in Marlene’s name which will be presented at our year end event.
